Regular Season Round 10: Hamburg - Schalke 69-66

The most exciting game of round 10 in the ProA took place in Hamburg. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Schalke (4-5) to second ranked Hamburg (7-2) 69-66 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Power forward Jannik Freese (211-86) fired 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Andrew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 13 points. American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and center Adam Touray (208-94) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hamburg maintains second position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Chemnitz. Newly promoted Schalke dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Hamburg are looking forward to face Phoenix Hagen (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Schalke will play against Walter Tigers (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
