Top ranked Zaporizhye (7-4) recorded its fourth loss in Zaporozhye. Hosts were edged by seventh ranked Cherkasy (2-5) 93-90. It looked good early as Zaporizhye took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cherkasy took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: De Paul) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Forward Chris Cokley (203-96, college: UAB, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Cherkasy's coach Maksym Mikhelson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Kyndahl Hill (201-94, college: Weber St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Mike Holton-Jr (185-90, college: St.Michael's) added 17 points and 8 assists in the effort for Zaporizhye. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains seventh place with 2-5 record. Zaporizhye at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Cherkasy will play against league's second-placed Dnipro at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaporizhye will play against the league's leader Khimik where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
