Regular Season Round 8: Fenerbahce - Arel Univ. 81-57
Date: November 17, 2018
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#2) and Arel Univ (#7). Fenerbahce (6-1) smashed visiting Arel Univ (2-5) by 24 points 81-57. The winners were led by forward Adem Bayrak (201-0) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Ekrem Sancakli (194-1) supported him with 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 6 rebounds by forward Emincan Inan (196-0) did not help to save the game for Arel Univ. Safak Yurdakulu (-1) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce maintains second position with 6-1 record behind leader Pinar Karsiyaka, which they share with Darussafaka. Arel Univ lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Galatasaray and Adatip Sakarya. Fenerbahce will play against Tarsus (#6) in the next round. Arel Univ will play against Turk Telekom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
