The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Goldbach's (1-8) road loss to thirteenth ranked Rosenheim (3-6) 78-84 on Saturday. Rosenheim outrebounded Goldbach 40-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Goldbach was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Albanian guard Shkelzen Bekteshi (185-91) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Five Rosenheim players scored in double figures. Rosenheim's coach Bob Miller used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brazilian point guard Luan Pereira-Xavier (187-92) replied with 25 points and 7 rebounds and British Jermaine Mellis (197) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Goldbach. Rosenheim moved-up to eleventh place in South-East, which they share with Jena II. Goldbach lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Rosenheim will face higher ranked Treuchtlingen (#3) in Treutchlingen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Goldbach will play at home against the league's leader Topstar (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
