Regular Season Round 12: Hoverla - Ch.Mavpy 2 80-53

Very expected game in Ivano-Frankivsk where 8th ranked Ch.Mavpy 2 (2-8) was crushed by third ranked Hoverla (7-3) 80-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. Ch.Mavpy 2 managed to win fourth quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ch.Mavpy 2's 28. Hoverla forced 21 Ch.Mavpy 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Ch.Mavpy 2's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Vitaly Vintoniak (202-93) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Denys Koshovets (202-90) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. Hoverla's coach Pavel Piskarev felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Maksym Deyna (204-99) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and Yaroslav Voytovych (202-99) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Hoverla have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Prometey, which they share with Mariupol. Ch.Mavpy 2 at the other side dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with Dnipro-2 and SumDU. Hoverla will again meet at home Ch.Mavpy 2 (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Ch.Mavpy 2 will have a break next round.
