Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Karlsruhe SC (6-3) rolled over at home 7th ranked Giessen Pointers (4-5) 83-61 on Saturday. Karlsruhe SC made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Karlsruhe SC outrebounded Giessen Pointers 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for center Eyke Prahst (209-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Rouven Roessler (198-80) contributed with 28 points for the winners. American swingman Christopher Miller (192-93, college: Salem Intern.) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Dominik Turudic (202-94) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Giessen Pointers. Giessen Pointers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Karlsruhe SC moved-up to third place in South-West, which they share with Tuebingen II and Saarlouis/Dillingen. Newly promoted Giessen Pointers keep the seventh position with five games lost. Karlsruhe SC will face Tuebingen II (#5) on the road in the next round. Giessen Pointers will play against Kaiserslautern and hope to win that game.
