The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rocks as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rocks smashed 7th ranked Worthersee Piraten in Mattersburg 101-82. The game was mostly controlled by Rocks. Worthersee Piraten managed to win third quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rocks dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Worthersee Piraten's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Italian guard Jan Nicoli (182-90) chipped in 23 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Rocks' coach James Williams used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian forward Matic Sirnik (198-91) produced 28 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian guard Elvis Keric (193-98) added 16 points and 12 assists respectively for lost side. Four Worthersee Piraten players scored in double figures. Rocks have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Blackbirds. Worthersee Piraten lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Worthersee Piraten will play next round against Nord Dragonz trying to get back on the winning streak. Rocks will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Lions in Dornbirn.
