The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Zalgiris as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Zalgiris smashed bottom-ranked Siauliai in Kaunas 102-61. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Zalgiris outrebounded Siauliai 38-22 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Siauliai's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Derrick Walton-Jr (185-95, college: Michigan) who scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. His fellow American import center Brandon Davies (208-91, college: BYU, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Antanas Udras (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Evaldas Saulys (190-93) added 13 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris (10-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Siauliai at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Siauliai will play next round against Prienu Skycop trying to get back on the winning streak. Zalgiris will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked P.Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys.
