Regular Season Round 9: ALBA Berlin - B.Loewen 63-80

There was no surprise when 10th ranked ALBA Berlin (1-8) was defeated at home by third ranked B.Loewen (7-1) 80-63 on Sunday. B.Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA Berlin's 36. American Marquisha Harris (180-93, college: W.Michigan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and guard Tatiana Tenorio-Haynes (175-91, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 24 points. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four B.Loewen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Noemie Rouault (182-95) with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Lucy Reudd (177) scored 20 points. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for B.Loewen. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Halle. ALBA Berlin lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. B.Loewen will face Krofdorf (#9) in Giessen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ALBA Berlin will play on the road against TG Neuss and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
