Very expected game when 15th ranked Lions (2-8) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (5-4) 88-78 on Sunday. MLP Academics Heidelberg shot 61.1 percent from the field and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Shyron Ely (193-87, college: Evansville, agency: Slash Sports) fired 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. Center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) chipped in 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four MLP Academics Heidelberg and five Lions players scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to fifth place. Lions lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with eight games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will face bottom-ranked White Wings (#16) in Hanau in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lions will play at home against Nuernberg and hope to win that game.
