Regular Season Round 10: Saarlouis/Dillingen - Tuebingen II 82-73

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Tuebingen II (6-3) lost on the road to fifth ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (6-3) 82-73 on Sunday. Saarlouis/Dillingen outrebounded Tuebingen II 44-29 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for naturalized American swingman Xavier Williams (190-91, college: Holy Family) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. American guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Rouven Hanig replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Niklas Schueler (183-97) added 11 points in the effort for Tuebingen II. Tuebingen II's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saarlouis/Dillingen moved-up to third place in South-West, which they share with Tuebingen II and Karlsruhe SC. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face HAKRO Merlins II (#14) in Crailsheim in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tuebingen II will play at home against Karlsruhe SC (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
