Regular Season Round 9: Elchingen - OrangeAcademy 64-73

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Elchingen (6-3) against sixth ranked OrangeAcademy (5-4) on Sunday night. Host Elchingen was defeated by OrangeAcademy in a tough game in Elchingen 64-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Elchingen. OrangeAcademy forced 20 Elchingen turnovers. Elchingen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Nicolas Bretzel (212-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Christoph Philipps (203-98) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Edin Alispahic (208-88) answered with 7 points and 9 rebounds and forward Brian Butler (196-91) added 12 points in the effort for Elchingen. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. OrangeAcademy maintains sixth place in South with 5-4 record. Elchingen at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with FC Bayern II and Fraport SKY II. OrangeAcademy will play against Dragons Rhoendorf (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Elchingen will play against Wuerzburg (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
