The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed HAKRO Merlins' (3-4) home loss to second ranked Heroes (5-1) 79-84 on Sunday. Heroes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Nico Wenzl (176-1) fired 23 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Jevon Perschnick (182-0) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Soeren Urbansky (214-0) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian point guard Aleksa Kovacevic (187-2) added 21 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Heroes. They maintain second place in Group 3 with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Ludwigsburg BBA. Loser HAKRO Merlins dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Heroes will face league's leader Junior Loewen in Breitenguessbach in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
