Regular Season Round 7: Vilniaus Silputa - Mazeikiu SM 102-85

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Vilniaus Silputa as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Vilniaus Silputa defeated 5th ranked Mazeikiu SM at home 102-85. It looked good early as Mazeikiu SM took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vilniaus Silputa had a 22-12 second period charge getting the lead and Mazeikiu SM was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 85-102. Vilniaus Silputa dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Mazeikiu SM's 50. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Ernest Narusevicius (205-1) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Erikas Jermolajevas (204-1) accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Vilniaus Silputa players scored in double figures. Rokas Triausys (196-1) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and center Lukas Valantinas (207-1) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Mazeikiu SM in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Vilniaus Silputa. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Mazeikiu SM at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Mazeikiu SM will play next round against Tornado KM trying to get back on the winning streak. Vilniaus Silputa will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Silutes SM on the road.
