Regular Season Round 7: Tornado KM - Jonavos 80-92

Everything could happen in Kaunas at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Jonavos and 11th ranked Tornado KM had identical 1-5 record. But Tornado KM was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Jonava 92-80. The game was mostly controlled by Jonavos. Tornado KM was better in fourth quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tornado KM 46-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Jonavos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for Aroldas Biciuzas (188-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Nojus Pankratjevas (189-1) contributed with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Point guard Gytis Macionis (192-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and guard Karolis Kandratavicius (181-1) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Tornado KM. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jonavos (2-5) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Silutes SM. Tornado KM lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Jonavos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Panevezio (#6) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tornado KM will play against Mazeikiu SM (#5) in Mazeikiai and hope to win that game.
