Regular Season Round 9: Vienna - Timberwolves 66-73

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vienna: Timberwolves (#6) and Hallmann (#9). Hallmann was defeated at home 66-73 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-66. Croatian guard Petar Cosic (183-85, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 assists for the winners and Serbian center Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma) with 16 points and point guard Mustafa Hassan-Zadeh (165-96) scored 14 points. Five Timberwolves and four Hallmann players scored in double figures. Timberwolves (5-4) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Klosterneuburg. Loser Hallmann dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Timberwolves will face bottom-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hallmann will play against the league's leader Gmunden Swans and hope to win that game.
