Regular Season Round 8: Academic Sofia - Levski Lukoil 66-88

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sofia: Levski Lukoil (#1) and Academic Sofia (#6). Academic Sofia was smashed at home by 22 points 66-88 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Levski Lukoil dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Academic Sofia's 26 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Levski Lukoil (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Academic Sofia lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with Spartak Pleven. Levski Lukoil will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Academic Sofia will play on the road against Spartak Pleven (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
