There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Sigortam.net ITU (3-4) beat higher ranked Akhisar Bld (3-4) in Istanbul 67-58 on Friday. It was a very good performance for Berkay Sinirlioglu (192-94) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. American guard Chad Frazier (192-92, college: UAB) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Sigortam.net ITU's coach Andac Yapicier used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Tufan Onen (202-89) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Omer Sancakli (195-92) added 14 points in the effort for Akhisar Bld. Sigortam.net ITU moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Akhisar Bld. Sigortam.net ITU will face Final Spor (#11) in Bursa in the next round.
