Regular Season Round 8: Triglav - Ilrija 73-46

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kranj. Second ranked host Triglav (7-1) smashed one of their biggest challengers Ilrija (5-3) 73-46. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ilrija. The game without a history. Triglav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Ilrija 43-26 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Ana Saric (182-0) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 4 assists and guard Urska Zibert (174-93) who added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Ela Micunovic (182-97) responded with 26 points and guard Lejla Pamic (180-99) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Triglav have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader Celje. Ilrija at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Jezica. Triglav are looking forward to face Maribor (#5) on the road in the next round. Ilrija will play against the league's leader Celje and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
