Regular Season Round 11: Rendsburg - ALBA Berlin II 98-70

There was no surprise when 15th ranked ALBA-2 (1-10) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Rendsburg (6-5) 98-70 on Saturday. Rendsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA-2's 28. Rendsburg forced 26 ALBA-2 turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Henning Rixen (196-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Australian swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rendsburg players scored in double figures. Evans Rapieque (193-2) responded with 13 points and American-Bosnian Abdulah Kameric (190-0) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rendsburg maintains fifth place in North with 6-5 record, which they share with Stade and Wusterhausen. ALBA-2 lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Rendsburg will face league's second-placed Wolmirstedt on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ALBA-2 will play against Aschersleben (#10) and hope to win that game.
