Regular Season Round 12: Lietkabelis - Neptunas 76-100

An interesting game for Neptunas (10-2) which played road game in Panevezys against 4th ranked Lietkabelis (7-4). Second ranked Neptunas had an easy win 100-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Lietkabelis was better in second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neptunas shot 61.0 percent from the field and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Lietkabelis' players. Lietkabelis was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Finnish point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neptunas maintains second position with 10-2 record behind leader Zalgiris. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Neptunas will play against Dzukija (#6) in Alytus in the next round. Lietkabelis will play on the road against Nevezis in Kedainiai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
