There was an upset when higher ranked Nuernberg (5-3) lost to fifteenth ranked Lions (3-8) in Karlsruhe 70-86 on Saturday. Lions forced 19 Nuernberg turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Cameroonian swingman Roland Nyama (198-93, college: Stony Brook) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Lions players scored in double figures. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Ishmail Wainright (196-94, college: Baylor) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Nuernberg. Lions maintains fifteenth place with 3-8 record. Loser Nuernberg dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Lions will face higher ranked Rostock (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
