Regular Season Round 11: Vechta II - Cuxhaven 96-83

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Vechta-2 (4-6) beat at home 10th ranked Cuxhaven (4-7) 96-83 on Saturday. Vechta-2 forced 22 Cuxhaven turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vechta-2 made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Kaimyn Pruitt (203-90, college: Adams St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Tim Insinger (205-97) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Five Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. Vechta-2's coach Hanno Stein used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Croatian guard Tomislav Gabric (198-91, college: Ft.Hays State) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and British forward Joshua Guddemi (201-94, college: New Haven) scored 21 points. Vechta-2 moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with Aschersleben. Cuxhaven lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Vechta-2 will face ETV (#14) in Hamburg in the next round.
