Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hrastnik (4-3) against ninth ranked Celje (4-4) on Saturday night. Host Hrastnik was crushed by Celje in Zasavlje 107-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hrastnik. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.9 percent from the field and made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Celje forced 22 Hrastnik turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Tadej Kostomaj (187-87) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 assists and 7 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and forward Matic Grusovnik (198-95) who added 28 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Celje players scored in double figures. Forward Marko Cergic (203-95, college: Augusta) responded with 23 points and point guard Klemen Pozin (180-95) scored 12 points and 8 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celje moved-up to sixth place, which they share with LTH Castings. Newly promoted Hrastnik keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Triglav and Parklji. Celje will meet at home higher ranked Triglav (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hrastnik will play against Plama Pur in Ilirska Bistrica and hope to secure a win.
