There was a minor upset in Frankfurt where 12th ranked Braunschweig (3-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (3-5) 82-77 on Saturday. Deutsche Bank Skyliners shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) who scored 17 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard DeAndre Lansdowne (188-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 21 points and 5 assists and the other American import swingman Brayon Blake (201-95, college: Idaho) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Jena and Ratiopharm. Loser Braunschweig dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Bremerhaven. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will meet league's second-placed ALBA Berlin on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Braunschweig will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#9) and hope to secure a win.
