Regular Season Round 11: Aschersleben - Langenhagen 82-79

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Aschersleben (4-6) edged at home 4th placed Langenhagen (7-4) 82-79 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American point guard Kendal Williams (183-92, college: Delaware St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Pakistani Salman Manzur (205-96) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Center Marcel Schwarz (203-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Arthur Zaletskiy (183-94) scored 18 points. Five Aschersleben and four Langenhagen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Aschersleben moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with Vechta II. Newly promoted Langenhagen keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Aschersleben will face ALBA-2 (#15) in Berlin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Langenhagen will play on the road against WSG Koenigs (#7) in Wildau and hope to win that game.
