Date: November 24, 2018
The game between third ranked Herlev (2-3) and fifth ranked Aabyhoj (3-2) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Herlev was crushed by Aabyhoj in Aabyhoj 86-56. The game was mostly controlled by Aabyhoj. Herlev managed to win second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Herlev to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Aabyhoj dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Herlev's 28 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Aabyhoj forced 24 Herlev turnovers. The best player for the winners was international guard Ida Krogh (181-91, college: Nova SE) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Caroline Wich (185-96, college: Portland St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Aabyhoj players scored in double figures. Forward Emilie Larsen (175-1) produced 18 points and guard Katrine Jessen (188-1) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aabyhoj moved-up to third place, which they share with SISU. Herlev at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Aabyhoj is looking forward to face league's second-placed Amager in Kastrup in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Herlev will play at home against Vaerlose and is hoping to win this game.
