Regular Season Round 5: Vaerlose - Horsholm 57-84

Undefeated leader Horsholm delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Vaerlose (1-4) 84-57. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Vaerlose was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsholm forced 22 Vaerlose turnovers. International forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Canadian forward Meg Wilson (188-94, college: Simon Fraser) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Horsholm's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Ellen Svendsen (176-99) answered with 20 points and guard Maria Hoegh (178-98) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Vaerlose. Horsholm (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Vaerlose lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with Lemvig and Stevnsgade. Horsholm will play against Stevnsgade (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Vaerlose will play against Herlev to get more than just one victory in their record.
