Regular Season Round 5: Interkhim - SBK Lviv 67-64

Important game to mention about took place in Odessa. Sixth ranked Interkhim (4-4) saved a 3-point derby victory at home edging 7th ranked SBK Lviv (2-5) 67-64 in the game for the sixth place. It looked good early as SBK Lviv took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Interkhim had a 29-11 second period charge getting the lead and SBK Lviv was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-67. Strangely SBK Lviv outrebounded Interkhim 46-31 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Marharyta Hliebova (186-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Yulia Sergeyeva (175-99) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Krystyna Matsko (182-91) answered with 23 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Viktoriya Babych (183-99) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for SBK Lviv. Interkhim maintains sixth place with 4-4 record. SBK Lviv lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Interkhim will play against higher ranked BK Rivne (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SBK Lviv will play against Frankivsk (#4) in Ivano-Frankivsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
