Regular Season Round 12: Prienu Skycop - Siauliai 80-88

Siauliai's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 11 consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Prienai, where they defeated Prienu Skycop (4-8) 88-80 on Sunday. Prienu Skycop trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-26 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-88 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Siauliai especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The winners were led by power forward Arminas Urbutis (206-86, college: Hofstra, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Evaldas Saulys (190-93) supported him with 21 points. Even 22 points and 6 assists by the former international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-88) did not help to save the game for Prienu Skycop. Forward Arnas Labuckas (205-87, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Siauliai and four Prienu Skycop players scored in double figures. Siauliai maintains tenth position with 1-11 record. It was Prienu Skycop's third loss in a row. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with P.Zvaigzdes. Siauliai will meet at home higher ranked Juventus (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Prienu Skycop will play against P.Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
