Not a big story in a game in Kaunas where 10th ranked Zalgiris U18 (2-8) was defeated by seventh ranked Vilniaus KM II (5-5) 91-83 on Tuesday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-17. But Zalgiris U18 won second period 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vilniaus KM II dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris U18's 22. They outrebounded Zalgiris U18 37-26 including 22 on the defensive glass. Vilniaus KM II looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vilniaus KM II made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Julius Vainius (202-1) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Augustinas Mikstas (198-1) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Tadas Urbonas (193-1) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Lukas Stanevicius (191-1) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zalgiris U18's coach Andrius Vaicekauskas rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vilniaus KM II maintains seventh position with 5-5 record. Zalgiris U18 lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost.
