There was no surprise in Kaunas where 15th ranked KTU (3-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Neptunas-Akv. (8-7) 77-68 on Friday. Neptunas-Akv. outrebounded KTU 39-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. KTU was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Klaidas Metrikis (202-0) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Jonas Dumasius (188-97) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Matas Ragauskas (189-96) produced 10 points and 6 assists and Julius Kigas (187-96) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Neptunas-Akv. maintains sixth place with 8-7 record, which they share with Perlas. KTU lost their eleventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Neptunas-Akv. will face Perlas (#7) in Vilnius in the next round. KTU will play on the road against Ezerunas (#13) in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
