Regular Season Round 17: Perlas - Zalgiris II 89-87

A very close game took place in Vilnius between Perlas and Zalgiris II. Ninth ranked Perlas (8-7) got a very close home victory over 10th ranked Zalgiris II (7-8). Perlas managed to escape with a 2-point win 89-87 on Friday evening. Perlas forced 21 Zalgiris II turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Guard Deividas Sirvydis (200-0) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) for the winners and power forward Einaras Tubutis (207-98) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Rokas Jokubaitis (192-0) responded with 24 points and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Modestas Kancleris (203-1) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Perlas and five Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Perlas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Neptunas-Akv. Zalgiris II lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Silute. Perlas will meet at home Neptunas-Akv. (#6) in the next round. Zalgiris II will play against the league's leader Palanga and hope to secure a win.
