Regular Season Round 8: Artvin - Karesi Spor 86-111

TBL top team - Karesi Spor (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Artvin (3-5) 111-86. Karesi Spor dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Artvin's 48. Karesi Spor had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Artvin's players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import forward Thomas Gipson (201-93, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Karesi Spor players scored in double figures. Karesi Spor's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) produced 43 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American-Azerbaijani forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Karesi Spor have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record, which they share with OGM Orman. Newly promoted Artvin dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Petkim.
