Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Selcuklu (0-9) was outscored at home by top-ranked Banvit (7-0) 84-56 on Friday. Banvit dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Selcuklu's 28. They outrebounded Selcuklu 48-30 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Banvit looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quite impressive performance for power forward Hakan Sayili (204-0) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Atakan Erdek (192-1) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Ahmet Oge (-2) replied with 16 points and Efe Celik (-1) added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Selcuklu. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Banvit have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-0 record having 2 victories less than leader Pinar Karsiyaka. Loser Selcuklu still closes the standings with nine games lost. Banvit will face Bahcehir (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Selcuklu will play against Gaziantep and hopes to get finally their first victory.
