Regular Season Round 9: BBU S. - Piraten 88-94

The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the 2.Bundesliga was a home defeat of 5th ranked BBU (4-5) to seventh ranked Worthersee Piraten (5-4) 94-88. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 47-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Slovenian forward Matic Sirnik (198-91) stepped up and scored 32 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Slovenian guard Elvis Keric (193-98) chipped in 24 points and 7 assists. Four Worthersee Piraten players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Greek guard Dimitris Mouratoglou (197-84) with 35 points (!!!) and Spanish forward Guillermo Sanchez (200-91) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Worthersee Piraten moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lions. BBU at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Worthersee Piraten is looking forward to face Mustangs (#8) in Mistelbach in the next round. BBU will play on the road against Lions in Dornbirn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
