Very important is a road loss of second ranked Istanbul Uni (0-7) against eighth ranked Ormanspor (4-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Istanbul Uni unexpectedly was crushed by in Ankara 53-95. Ormanspor outrebounded Istanbul Uni 37-26 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Ormanspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Istanbul Uni's players. It was a great evening for American guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA, agency: FlyBasketball) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points. Her fellow American import center Aneika Henry-Morello (193-86, college: Florida) helped adding 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ormanspor players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Feride Sevval (180-1) responded with 18 points and 5 assists and international center Ilayda Guner (186-99, agency: FlyBasketball) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ormanspor moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Istanbul Uni lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Kircicegi B.. Ormanspor will meet league's second-placed Hatay on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Istanbul Uni will play against the league's leader Adana Basket and hopes to get finally their first victory.
