Rather expected game in Quakenbrueck where 6th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-5) was defeated by third ranked Young Dragons (5-3) 84-76 on Saturday. Young Dragons forced 32 Eisbaeren Bremerhaven turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Radii Caisin (195-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Samuel Schmedes (198-0) who added 28 points and 5 steals during the contest. Young Dragons' coach David Gomez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Bojang Manuel-Malik (186-1) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Migel Wessel (192-1) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Young Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group 1 with 5-3 record behind leader Ludwigsburg BBA. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Young Dragons will face Eagles BA (#8) in Itzehoe in the next round where they are favorite.
