Regular Season Round 11: Elchingen - Bayer Giants 96-64

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Bayer Giants (10-1) on the court of fifth ranked Elchingen on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Elchingen 96-64. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Bayer Giants. Elchingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Croatian forward Jere Vucica (206-92, college: Miami, OH, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Bosnian-Slovenian power forward Edin Alispahic (208-88) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. Center Dennis Heinzmann (216-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and French swingman Ron Mvouika (196-91, college: St.John's) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Elchingen (7-4) moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Fraport SKY II. Bayer Giants at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. Elchingen is again looking forward to face league's leader Bayer Giants in Leverkusen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bayer Giants will have a break next round.
