Everything went according to plan when second ranked Wolmirstedt (10-2) outscored at home 5th ranked Rendsburg (6-6) 84-60 on Saturday. Wolmirstedt looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Rendsburg's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and guard Philipp Lieser (194-89, college: Cent.Washington) who added 18 points and 11 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Christopher Geist (208-95) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Pierce Cumpstone (203-94, college: Stonehill) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Wolmirstedt maintains second position in North with 10-2 record having just one point less than leader Leitershofen. Loser Rendsburg keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Wolmirstedt will face Aschersleben (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rendsburg will play against Cuxhaven (#13) and hope to win that game.
