Regular Season Round 12: Ibbenbueren - Dorsten 78-85

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Ibbenbueren (4-7) was defeated at home by second ranked Dorsten (8-3) 85-78 on Saturday. Dorsten looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Nwabuzor (188, college: N.Mexico Highlands) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and Bulgarian swingman Lyuben Paskov (196-90) who added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Worth to mention Nwabuzor played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Five Dorsten players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and guard Omar Zemhoute (190-91) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Dorsten have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in West with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader Leitershofen. Ibbenbueren lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Dorsten will face Recklinghausen (#5) at home in the next round. Ibbenbueren will play against Herford (#3) and hope to win that game.
