Regular Season Round 9: Herner - Keltern 88-60

An interesting game for Herner TC (9-1) which hosted in Herne 4th placed Gruner Stern Keltern (5-4). Second ranked Herner TC had an easy win 88-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gruner Stern Keltern. Herner TC forced 20 Gruner Stern Keltern turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. American-Italian guard Beatrice Attura (170-94, college: Northwestern St., agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 steals for the winners and Dutch forward Jill Bettonvil (188-92) chipped in 16 points. Five Herner TC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian power forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian Marina Markovic (185-91, agency: ProDep Management) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Herner TC have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-1 record behind leader Marburg. Defending champion Gruner Stern Keltern keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Herner TC will play against Fireballs (#11) in Bad Aibling in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gruner Stern Keltern will play at home against TV Saarlouis Royals (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
