An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sofia. Third ranked Champion 2006 faced one of their biggest challengers Rilski 2. Host Champion 2006 (3-4) defeated guests from Samokov (1-5) 73-60. Champion 2006 forced 25 Rilski 2 turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Tsvetomir Akimov (192-97) who scored 20 points and 5 assists. Forward Konstantin Paisiev (195-2) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Miroslav Vasov (199-98) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Vasil Popov (190-2) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Champion 2006 maintains third position with 3-4 record having just three point less than leader Akademik Sofia. Rilski 2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Champion 2006 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rilski 2 will play at home against Vidabasket (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
