Regular Season Round 11: Targu Secuiesc - Targu Mures 73-75

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Liga Nationala took place in Targu Secuiesc. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Targu Secuiesc (3-5) to second ranked Sirius TgM (4-3) 75-73 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 16-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Targu Secuiesc helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Mihaela Maxim (167-96) who scored 23 points. Swingman Antonia Radu (180-97) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Sirius TgM players scored in double figures. American forward Kayla Mobley (180-90, college: Clayton St.) produced a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Helga Csurulya (170-0) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Despite that victory Sirius TgM went down to third position (Nationala) due to points difference. Newly promoted Targu Secuiesc keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Sirius TgM are looking forward to face Oradea (#4) at home in the next round. Targu Secuiesc will play against Alexandria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
