Regular Season Round 12: Rostock - Karlsruhe PS 74-80

An interesting game took place in Rostock where higher ranked Rostock (6-6) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Lions (4-8) 80-74. They made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Rostock was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and Filmore Beck (190-91) supported him with 12 points. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) by American guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for Rostock. Point guard Martin Bogdanov (186-92) added 16 points. Rostock's coach Milan Skobalj rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lions maintains fifteenth position with 4-8 record. Newly promoted Rostock dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Walter Tigers and Kirchheim. Lions will play against higher ranked Walter Tigers (#8) in Tuebingen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rostock will play on the road against MLP Academics Heidelberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
