Regular Season Round 8: ALBA Berlin - Berlin T. 66-72

Date: December 2, 2018
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Berlin: Berlin T. (#7) and ALBA Berlin (#2). ALBA Berlin was defeated at home 66-72 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Berlin T. dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA Berlin's 22. Berlin T. forced 31 ALBA Berlin turnovers. ALBA Berlin was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Dwayne Koroma (203-1) who scored that evening 22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Luca Lukacevic (203-0) supported him with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by Elias Roedl (195-2) did not help to save the game for ALBA Berlin. Evans Rapieque (193-2) added 13 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the hosts. ALBA Berlin's coach Josef Dulibic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Berlin T. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group 1, which they share with Eisbaeren Brem. ALBA Berlin at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Berlin T. will play against higher ranked Piraten (#4) in Hamburg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ALBA Berlin will play at home against Uni Baskets and hopes to get back on the winning track.
