There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Politekhnik (2-10) beat on the road higher ranked Kyiv Basket (6-5) 81-77 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 30-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Politekhnik made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Kyiv Basket turnovers. Strangely Kyiv Basket outrebounded Politekhnik 43-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. Kyiv Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Delwan Graham (203-88, college: Jacksonville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds. Guard TJ Cromer (190-95, college: E.Tenn.St.) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Maurice Creek (196-90, college: G.Washington) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Kyiv Basket. Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. Kyiv Basket's coach Evgeni Murzin tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Politekhnik maintains eighth position with 2-10 record. Newly promoted Kyiv Basket keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Politekhnik will face higher ranked Cherkasy (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
