Regular Season Round 6: Kozachka-KPU - Kyiv Basket 63-73

Superleague top team - Kyiv Basket (8-2) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat ninth ranked Kozachka-KPU (2-11) in Zaporozhye 73-63. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Kyiv Basket forced 23 Kozachka-KPU turnovers. It was a good game for the former international guard Ievgeniia Spitkovska (174-88) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 8 assists. The former international swingman Anna Olkhovyk (188-87) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Svitlana Radionova (184-97) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Katerina Tikhonova (176-97) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kozachka-KPU. Kyiv Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Kyiv Basket went down to second position due to points difference. Kozachka-KPU lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Kyiv Basket will face Interkhim (#6) in Odessa in the next round. Kozachka-KPU will play at home against Chaika and hope to win that game.
