Regular Season Round 9: Yeni Mamak - Final Spor 65-56

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Final Spor (2-7) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Yeni Mamak (5-4) 65-56 on Friday. Yeni Mamak looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Erkan Yilmaz (198-86) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 assists for the winners and Ercan Bayrak (205-97) chipped in 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American forward Lennard Freeman (203-95, college: NC State) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import LaceDarius Dunn (193-87, college: Baylor) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Final Spor players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yeni Mamak moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sigortam.net ITU and Akhisar Bld. Final Spor lost their third game in a row. Final Spor at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Yalova Bld and Ankara DSI. Yeni Mamak will meet Artvin (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Final Spor will play against Yalova Bld and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
