Very expected game in Kaunas where 15th ranked KTU (3-15) was defeated by ninth ranked Silute (9-9) 72-65 on Friday. Silute made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. KTU was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for swingman Evaldas Dziaugys (196-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Andrius Gaidys (180-94) helped adding 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five Silute players scored in double figures. At the losing side Matas Ragauskas (189-96) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and center Laurynas Miknevicius (200-98) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. KTU's coach Arturas Sukovas let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Silute. They moved-up to eighth place. KTU lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Silute will face Gargzdu (#9) in Gargzdai in the next round. KTU will play on the road against Ereliai Mazeikiai (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
